Speed enters the Sword Mountain Race behind his father's back. However, Ace and his gang attack the Mach 5, aiming to steal the blueprints of Pops Racer's new engine.
Speed Racer, a young and upcoming driver, drives a white-body super racing car named Mach 5. Speed enters his first race to win money for his family, against his father, Pops Racer.

Mr. Goldminter, the richest man in the world, holds the Around the World Grand Prix. The champion will win tons of gold and his daughter, Lovelace. Upon a request, Speed joins the race with his pride as a racer. Lovelace also joins the race secretly, resisting to her father's self-centered decision.
By air, Speed and his fellows are on the way to the Grand Prix, but their plane breaks down due to lightning, falling onto an uninhabited island with other passengers. A search party never shows up, so Speed plans to escape from the island using the Mach 5 as a balloon with hydrogen gas and ad balloons.
As Dan and the Brawlers continue their search for the Bakugan Termination System, they run into an ambush by the Palace Guards the Brawlers are forced to separate.
Spectra makes good on his bet with Dan and takes the Brawlers to the Mother Palace once there, the Brawlers immediately take off in search of the Battle Termination System in order to destroy it.
With the Brawlers' hiding spot now exposed, the pressure is on Dan comes up with a plan to storm the Mother Palace in a pre-emptive strike on the Vexo, but the problem is that the Brawlers don't know where the Palace is.

After Elfin overhears Preyas talking about her receiving the energy and rash behaviour, Elfin runs away.
