SOUTH AFRICA UNCORKED: SOUL, SEA & SAFARI
Kolyn Boyd and Lindsey Granger venture beyond the mountains to explore the vibrant soul of South Africa, from the high-adrenaline wild of Kruger National Park to the trailblazing spirit of its first Black-owned winery. The journey begins in Mpumalanga, 'the place where the sun rises,' for an immersive safari experience in Kruger National Park. Accompanied by their daughter, Kynsley, the team experiences nature's masterpiece firsthand, discovering that the 'wild' is as much about preservation as it is about the thrill of discovery. The narrative then shifts to Cape Town, a global cosmopolitan hub where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Standing atop the iconic Table Mountain, the hosts reflect on its history as a 'gift to the world' from Nelson Mandela. Deepening their cultural exploration, Kolyn and Lindsey visit the Lesedi Cultural Village to experience the living history of the Zulu people through dance, rhythm, and traditional delicacies. The celebration of South African excellence culminates at Klein Goederust, the first and only 100% Black-owned winery in the Franschhoek Valley. Through a moving conversation with founder Paul Siguqa, the episode highlights a legacy of resilience—transforming generations of farm labor into a future of ownership and Black excellence.
