Maddy is in a mood now that Rhydian has moved out. Her parents are taking her, Shannon and Tom for a day in Blackpool to cheer her up. A white poppy on the counter changes colour when Daniel stands next to it and the owner, Bob Driscoll, seemingly friendly, excuses himself and leaves to make a sneaky phone call.

The day before school Parents' Evening, Maddy, Tom, Shannon and Rhydian are helping Jana clean her caravan. Rhydian's Mother, Ceri, shows up. But it's not just Rhydian she has come to see. She tells Jana that her Father Alric has been deposed by the pack, making Jana the new Alpha. If Jana doesn't assume her destiny as heir, the pack will destroy itself as betas fight for control.
The class are Camping overnight in Aern Hollow before the orienteering task the next day. Liam has his ancestor's journal with him outlining how he found and tracked the werewolf he shot (ep 3). In their respective tents, Maddy, Jana and Rhydian use their wolfblood hearing to listen in, telling Tom and Shannon what they hear.
As student rep, Kara is in charge of organising tonight's school disco which she and the other K's are determined to make the coolest night of the year. Katrina is also excited because she thinks Harry Averwood is to be her date that night. The problem for our Wolfbloods is that there's no moon and all they want to do is sleep.
Rhydian, Shannon and Maddy catch Jana breaking into Shannon's locker before school. Jana defends herself she HAS to get Shannon's laptop to destroy the data. Maddy lands on Shannon's side but secretly, she and Rhydian know that Jana is right it's a ticking time bomb.
It's election time for student rep on the school council! Jeffries doesn't expect anyone to be interested but Jana, now determined to be pack leader, throws up her hand. Maddy does too in retaliation. The Ks don't want either girl being their rep so Kara puts herself forward. Jimi can't bear the thought of all this girl power and volunteers himself as candidate.

Jana, on her way to school, is surprised by Alric. Far from being terrified she flings herself into his arms. Jana hadn't been banished from the pack at all. Alric had sent her in to lure Rhydian into coming back with her. She has taken too long. He wants all three of them to return by the end of the day. In school, Tom is humiliated by Jimi showing off his judo in the gym.
It's a lunar eclipse, and Jana is bursting with excitement! This is the ultimate night for Wolfbloods, one where their wolf and their human are finally at one. They become a wolf on the inside, whist remaining - for an hour - human on the outside, apart from veining and yellow eyes. It's a buzz! Jana invites Rhydian to spend the eclipse with her on the moors, but Rhydian isn't sure.
Liam's dad, a farmer, has ploughed up an old skeleton of a wolfblood in mid-transformation – and Liam is boasting about his ancestor being a werewolf hunter. Our Wolfbloods go to investigate. Jana is livid, telling tells the others they have a duty to give it the traditional wolfblood burial.
Maddy finds a strange girl stealing her school clothes from the washing line. The thief turns on Maddy. It's a wolfblood! Maddy gives chase but Rhydian stops her, recognising the girl as Jana, daughter of Alric. Maddy is shocked to see Jana arrive at school the next day with her uniform on, greeting Rhydian like a long lost “friend”.
Rhydian unexpectedly returns on the night of the full moon, chased by wild wolfbloods as Tom discovers Shannon spying on the Smiths with a surveillance camera hidden in the Den. Maddy's overjoyed to have Rhydian back and persuades her parents to help him re-adjust back to life in Stoneybridge.
Shannon is worried about the wolves and their safety now people know they exist, they may be hunted. She plans to inform the Department of the Environment so they can protect the wolves, but first needs proof that the wolves exist and she knows how to get it - Carl's wolfbait! Maddy and Rhydian are worried, they have to get the bait before Shannon gets her hands on it.
It is the day of the full moon and Maddy and Rhydian aren't looking forward to a night in the den. Rhydian tries to talk Maddy into escaping, but Maddy knows she can't - her parents would be furious! Shannon has been trying to forget about the beast by throwing herself into other interests.
Rhydian is dabbling with his Eolas powers in school, showing off to his school mates. Maddy can't understand how he is doing it, the tricks go beyond Wolfblood senses and speed. Rhydian shares his secret with Maddy. It's something his mum taught him, Eolas, which wild wolfbloods use to connect themselves with nature.
It's a month since Tara's injury and her plaster is due to come off but Tara seems much more focused on her new boyfriend, Christian, and organising the school formal. Sammy and Abigail decide take their relationship to the next level.
There's a fourth mermaid in town - Charlotte! Emma, Rikki and Cleo reluctantly have to deal with the newcomer. Charlotte is overjoyed, thinking this is the best thing that's ever happened to her. No matter how much they all try to explain how tricky it is being a mermaid, Charlotte won't listen.
The girls want Lewis to destroy Max's research folder Charlotte is getting too close. Reluctant to give it up, Lewis decides to take it back where it belongs - to Max. Suspicious, Charlotte follows Lewis to Max Hamilton. Max tells all to Charlotte when he discovers she's the granddaughter of his one true love - Gracie.
The Vandals are carrying out a nasty plan: they have enlisted a terrible horde of stinging jellyfish to sow terror in the Bay. But the mermaids aren't able to respond: Rikki grounded, wrongly accused of calling in a fire alarm at school, and Cleo has to help care for swimmers stung by the jellies.
Emma's kid brother Elliott happened to see Rikki's mermaid tail in the water! He starts telling everyone he's seen a sea monster. To cover up, the girls and Lewis start building a fake monster, to make people think it was all a hoax. But it's too late – the whole town's out looking for the famous “Dolphin City Monster”.
The Bay prepares for a great excitement: there's soon to be the first great robotics competition organized by the Dolphin City University. The events will take place underwater, and Lewis wants badly to win first prize: enrolment in the Science Faculty! Unfortunately, Zane is also participating, and true to form, can only do it by cheating.
