Ha-eun becomes convinced the suicide is actually a murder and uncovers ties to a powerful politician, but is ordered to stop the investigation. Meanwhile, hidden connections to a man believed dead 20 years ago begin to surface.
Seo Ha-eun, a respected detective with no memory of his early childhood, investigates a suspicious motel suicide that may be linked to a case from 20 years ago. As he tracks down a key suspect, the man reacts with shock upon seeing Ha-eun's face.
Moo Gak, Lt. Yeom and the other detectives are shocked to see the video of Jae Hee kidnapping Cho Rim. Meanwhile, Cho Rim leaves a clue when she drops her ring on the floor as Jae Hee looks away.
Jae Hee tries to escape with the autobiographies, but gets arrested by Moo Gak instead. Meanwhile, Cho Rim is starting to recall memories of her parents and her accident.
Moo Gak tries to find Lt. Yeom at Jae Hee's house but does not find the secret room. Jae Hee tells Lt. Yeom will give you an autobiography. Cho Rim feels guilty Lt. Yeom was taken in every stead.
Cho Rim sees the same scent on Jae Hee she's seen before on Dr. Chun's body. She tells Moo Gak she wants the other detectives to know of her ability. Now knowing this, the special investigation unit sets up a plan to secure evidence from Jae Hee's house.
Moo Gak finds the Frog Troupe leader after hearing he told Cho Rim, now only staff support, that she doesn't have the confidence or humor to go on stage. Cho Rim cries from humiliation and Moo Gak tells her they can do comedy and investigations together.

Just after arriving to the restaurant, Moo Gak and the other detectives witness a man falling from the rooftop. Moo Gak discovers Jae Hee looking down from there. Jae Hee, who has no time to make excuses, is arrested for being caught red-handed.
When Moo Gak asks the troupe leader to take Cho Rim back, he's ordered to make him laugh. Meanwhile, a body with an engraved barcode is found at the park, breaking the chain-murder pattern and creates chaos within the special investigation team.
Cho Rim tells Moo Gak that Joo Ma Ri's scent is headed to the river. Her car and corpse are found there. Noting the barcode on Ma Ri's arm, Lt. Yeom is convinced it's a barcode chain murder and orders Moo Gak to join the special investigation team.
Moo Gak asks to be a detective to the chief of homicide, who gives him a case file. Chief says only if he finds the culprit in ten days. Meanwhile, Cho Rim suggests that Moo Gak be her sketch comedy partner in lieu of giving her the car repair fee.
Gun provides wholehearted support for the collaboration, while Mi Young grows uncomfortable with his constant presence at her side. Se Ra becomes increasingly uneasy about Mi Young's return.
Chairwoman Wang sounds Mi Young out about reconciling with Gun, but Mi Young is resolute. Gun, as usual, visits Mi Young's mother's restaurant and runs into Mi Young there she asks him not to come anymore. Later, Mi Young is selected as the artist for Jangin Chemicals' ad-image collaboration project.
Daniel finally finds the younger sister he has been searching for, and Gun is crestfallen to hear Mi Young plans to return to France. Yong suggests recruiting a female artist as a key strategic move for the company—and recommends Mi Young—but she turns Gun's business proposal down. Meanwhile, Daniel formally proposes to Mi Young.
Mi Young makes a successful exhibition debut with Daniel, and when Gun sees them together, jealousy flares. Chairwoman Wang is still pulling every string to get Gun married, but it isn't easy Se Ra is bitter about their lack of progress. Meanwhile, Mi Young runs into Gun outside her hotel room.
Mi Young attends the final prenatal class alone—until Gun unexpectedly shows up. Gun breaks up with Se Ra, and Se Ra asks Mi Young to break up with Gun. Overwhelmed, Mi Young tells Daniel, who is leaving for France, that she wants to go with him.
Waking up in the hospital, Gun shows symptoms suggesting a hereditary illness and doesn't remember Mi Young. Though confused and hurt, she stays by his side. Se Ra seizes the chance to be with Gun as much as possible, but as she realizes how strong Gun and Mi Young's bond still is, she feels threatened.
Outside the prenatal class, Gun and Mi Young run into one of Se Ra's friends, while Se Ra decides to return to Korea after her New York performance. Hearing that an industrial-waste plant is slated for Yeo-ul Island, Mi Young feels betrayed by Gun, and her sudden change in attitude starts to irk him.
Startled by Gun's sudden chill after the wedding, Mi Young is taken aback when he even presents divorce papers. To steady him, Chairwoman Wang recommends a prenatal class for Mi Young, and Gun reluctantly attends. Meanwhile, Gun bumps into Daniel and Mi Young at the chairwoman's house.
