Ash heads into the desert to meet up with Wu Xinlei, who is a survival expert. He's hoping to understand what it would have been like for the people who built The Great Wall in this remote and punishing landscape.

Following the Great Wall west, Ash heads to Inner Mongolia to meet up with a nomadic family and to try Mongolian wrestling. He's hoping to visit Naadam Festival, which features a key part of Mongolian culture: horseracing.

In his toughest challenge so far, Ash takes on Eagle's Neck – a notoriously steep and dangerous section of the Great Wall of China. But first, he meets tech experts who've been helping to digitally map The Great Wall in an effort to protect it.

Ash has made it to Beijing, where he's meeting Terry Townsend to learn more about wildlife conservation in the region around the Great Wall of China. He also meets two more Wall Protectors and samples local delicacies in Shi Xia Village.

Starting at Old Dragon's Head, Ash continues west to meet a Wall Protector who has dedicated his life to preserving this iconic monument, before gearing up for an unexpected adventure: scuba diving the ruins of the Great Wall of China.
