Tuxedo Mask is fatally wounded while protecting Sailor Moon. Responding to Sailor Moon's tears, the seven Rainbow Crystals gather to form the Legendary Silver Crystal, and she is transformed into Serenity, the Moon Princess that everyone has been seeking.

Usagi and Naru attend an art exhibit by Yumemi Yumeno, whose works are known for helping people find love. Usagi is surprised when she and Mamoru, who also happen to be at the exhibit, are both asked by Yumemi to become models for her latest painting.
Usagi learns that a transfer student named Ryo Urawa seems to have a crush on Ami, and tries to help him out. But Ryo, who secretly possesses the ability to foresee the future, finds out that he is destined to fight Ami as a Monster.
The Sailor Guardians grow in strength with its newest member Sailor Jupiter joining the team. Sailor Moon is appointed as team leader and is handed the Moon Stick, an item that can locate the seven Rainbow Crystals.
A new girl named Makoto Kino transfers to Usagi's school, but her tough attitude seems to scare everyone away. Usagi, however, quickly becomes friends with her. Meanwhile, the Dark Kingdom is plotting to revive the Seven Great Monsters.
Nephrite uncovers Sailor Moon's true identity as Usagi Tsukino. But his attempt to finish her off is cut short when he learns that Naru has been kidnapped by Zoisite, who demands that Nephrite give up his Dark Crystal in exchange for the girl's safety.
Naru has fallen in love with Masato Sanjoin. Knowing that Sanjoin is really Nephrite, Usagi tries to convince Naru to give up on her feelings without having her learn the truth.
The Kingdom of Diamonds is hosting a party at the embassy to reveal their royal treasure to the world. Believing that the treasure may be the Legendary Silver Crystal, both the Sailor Guardians and the Dark Kingdom crash the party to find out.
Usagi and Ami go shopping, where they find a store selling a clock that resembles Luna. Usagi is happy to learn that her mother bought the same clock as a gift. That night, the clock emits a strange light that causes Usagi to become very impatient.
Usagi befriends Ami Mizuno, the school's smartest girl, who has an IQ over 300. But Luna, who senses an unknown energy coming from Ami, suspects her of being a Monster.
Usagi and Naru both dream of becoming a famous star like Mikan Shiratori, a graduate from their school. When the girls hear that Mikan is hosting a talent contest, they see their chance to achieve stardom.
One rainy day, Usagi bumps into Yusuke Amade, a famous musician who claims he is being chased by a monster. Realizing the man is telling the truth, Usagi and Luna decide to keep an eye on Yusuke by staking out the venue where he performs.
Usagi asks her family if they can keep Luna as a pet, but her little brother Shingo objects due to his fear of cats. Instead, Shingo brings home a pet Chanela. Shingo becomes so absorbed in the Chanela that he stops going to school, which worries Usagi.
