It's one year since the girls became mermaids and Cleo decides to organise a special party just for them but when Zane and Ash clash at the juice bar, Rikki and Emma take their boyfriend's side in the argument. Soon Emma and Rikki aren't talking to each other. No matter what Cleo tries, the friendship is still strained.
Ash keeps trying to ask Emma out but she won't hear of it - it's a full moon tonight. Cleo and Rikki goad Ash into being bold with Emma - but they don't count on him turning up at Emma's place in time for the full moon! Ash organises a romantic dinner just for him and Emma.
Lewis searches through a research folder on mermaids given to him by Max, somewhere in the research lies a clue to how all this happened. Charlotte becomes jealous of how much time Lewis is spending with his ex-girlfriend Cleo. When Charlotte visits Cleo, she sees a picture of Gracie on the wall and recognises her as her grandmother!
Lewis continues to search for clues to the magical effects of the moon pool. He discovers someone called Max Hamilton did research fifty years ago on the strange properties of Mako Island. Lewis tracks the old man down. Max is cagey and plays a cat and mouse game with Lewis. But it becomes clear the old guy knows a lot more about mermaids than Lewis first thought.

The White Mermaid is in danger! Her sanctuary, the sunken galleon of Edward the Cruel, is about to be discovered by Stanley Finch, the famous explorer. The girls decide to stop him, and make his boat take another course, towards the sinister underwater stone circle.
The girls find some turtle eggs on Dolphin City beach: they are too fragile to move, so they take turns watching over them till they hatch. But that's not counting with Miriam and Zane – who are having a beach party!! Meanwhile, underwater, Bernie, cannot bear all the noise and disruption his neighbors are making, and decides to leave his cave and go and stay elsewhere for a bit of a rest.
In her sleep Cleo creates huge spheres of water that float through the air in Dolphin City, causing chaos. This strange phenomenon is caused by her worries about her Dad, who is on a mission out at sea. And what if Cleo's worries are real? What if her Dad really has fallen into the hands of dangerous outlaws involved in illegal fishing?
The inhabitants of the Bay are overwhelmed: one of the dolphin twins, Robby, has disappeared, captured by an unknown speedboat. Bernie calls on our three mermaids for help: the girls were walking around Dolphin City, which is all decked out for the carnival. But why would anyone kidnap a dolphin?
Liam's dad, a farmer, has ploughed up an old skeleton of a wolfblood in mid-transformation – and Liam is boasting about his ancestor being a werewolf hunter. Our Wolfbloods go to investigate. Jana is livid, telling tells the others they have a duty to give it the traditional wolfblood burial.
Maddy finds a strange girl stealing her school clothes from the washing line. The thief turns on Maddy. It's a wolfblood! Maddy gives chase but Rhydian stops her, recognising the girl as Jana, daughter of Alric. Maddy is shocked to see Jana arrive at school the next day with her uniform on, greeting Rhydian like a long lost “friend”.
Rhydian unexpectedly returns on the night of the full moon, chased by wild wolfbloods as Tom discovers Shannon spying on the Smiths with a surveillance camera hidden in the Den. Maddy's overjoyed to have Rhydian back and persuades her parents to help him re-adjust back to life in Stoneybridge.
Shannon is worried about the wolves and their safety now people know they exist, they may be hunted. She plans to inform the Department of the Environment so they can protect the wolves, but first needs proof that the wolves exist and she knows how to get it - Carl's wolfbait! Maddy and Rhydian are worried, they have to get the bait before Shannon gets her hands on it.
Rikki's frustrated by the water attacks and goes to Mako Island on a full moon to confront the strange force in the Moon Pool.
Sophie uses Bella's idea for a fundraising concert and presents it as her own to Rikki to gain publicity for the cafe.
