Marriage troubles continue between Ujae's parents as their wedding anniversary comes by. Seoyeong gets scouted by Unique Law Firm after the sentencing of her murder trial. She finds it harder by the day to work as a judge. Meanwhile Samjae is continuing to work hard and Sangu's love for Migyeong is deepening. She's worried about telling him the truth whilst Hojeong does what she can to gain some independence from her overly attached mother.
It's been 3 years since the last episode... Jiseon has a hard time adjusting to her perfect daughter-in-law... What every other mother-in-law would be happy about, she finds a burden and complains to Gapsun. Meanwhile Hojeong returns from the U.S., bringing back a man with her that she's sure her mother will accept. Migyeong is now dating Sangu and considering marriage whilst Seoyeong has to handle a major case and continues to grow weary of being a judge. Samjae is the one who is truly doing well with himself, having paid of his debts and worked hard to become a decent father. Perhaps he hopes for the day he'll be reunited with his daughter.
Seoyeong is determined to maintain her lie about going overseas. There is no way she can confess to Ujae that she lied about her father. Sangu is distraught at her decision but can't help her out. There is no way that he can disown his father no matter how much he has hated him too. In the midst of this Hojeong agrees to go to the U.S. with the promise that after she returns she can do whatever she wants. In the end Samjae goes to be a pretend guest at a VIP's wedding... The twist is shocking!
Ujae's mother goes on a hunger strike to try and prevent Ujae's marriage but in the end she strikes a deal that forces Seoyeong to back away. Ujae's at his wits end because he's done everything he can to win Seoyeong's heart. He knows she loves him and her pride and fear are keeping her away. In the end he decides that he can't do anything for her and leaves for the U.S. Meanwhile Hojeong tried desperately to meet Sangu one last time to return his handkerchief only to discover that his father's sick. She ends up nursing him and gets to see Sangu who confirms that he doesn't like her but doesn't hate her either. This is good enough for her.
Samjae continues to work hard as a hall manager to save money and face but ends up at the police station much to Seoyeong's disappointment. Hojeong gets busted for being in love which will lead to dire consequences for her. Seongjae finds out what's been going on with his brother and his tutor and why she has to quit. He relieves his stress the only way he knows how... Which is to go on a shopping spree... Just like his mother. Migyeong finds out the truth behind her boyfriend and Ujae gives up on Seoyeong in the end.
Ujae slowly closes in on the criminal that stole his bike. Seoyeong starts to bond with Seongjae and even decides to live in their house as a tutor. Migyeong finds Sangho and grows closer to him.
Seoyeong and Ujae's fates continue to mingle as Seoyeong ends up tutoring his younger brother Seongjae. Meanwhile Sangu runs into Migyeong at the location of a car accident. Both being med students, they also go at it trying to determine the right action to take. The fates of these families continue to wind and twist even more. At night Sangu and his father run into a drunken Hojeong in the middle of the street...
