Inspector Kang and the other detectives ask Lt. Yeom why Moo Gak is suddenly kicked off the investigation. She says it's because he is a family member of the barcode-chain-murder victim. Meanwhile, Cho Rim is in shock after reading Dr. Chun's letter.
Lt. Yeom deliberately makes a sketch different from what Cho Rim remembers. She also discovers that Oh Jae Pyo is Cho Rim's father when running an identity check. Meanwhile, Cho Rim tells Moo Gak she senses fear when recalling her accident.
To help Cho Rim remember, Moo Gak tries to make a composite sketch of the woman's face who flashed across Cho Rim's mind. Meanwhile, Jae Hee hires a private investigator to trace Eun Seol's past.
Lt. Yeom tells a shocked Cho Rim that Moo Gak was assaulted and saw the culprit's face before falling into a coma. Jae Hee tries, but can't grasp Dr. Chun's message. To find out Moo Gak's state, Jae Hee tells Cho Rim he will go to the hospital with her.
Moo Gak finds the Frog Troupe leader after hearing he told Cho Rim, now only staff support, that she doesn't have the confidence or humor to go on stage. Cho Rim cries from humiliation and Moo Gak tells her they can do comedy and investigations together.
Worried about Cho Rim, Moo Gak asks her to stop investigating altogether. However, Cho Rim likes the fact she can use her eye for something useful and says Moo Gak can protect her if she's in danger.
High school student Cho Rim becomes a witness to her parents' murder scene, runs for her life from the suspect and gets hit by a car. Moo Gak then gets a call that Eun Seol was hurt. He rushes to the hospital and thinks she's dead from the neck wound..
Gun and Mi Young spend blissful days together, while Chief Tak and Yong try to recreate the “Macau revival” plan.
Chairwoman Wang is dumbfounded when Gun and Mi Young suddenly go missing. Mi Young's mother asks Gun to let Mi Young go, and he works hard to change her mind. Meanwhile, Se Ra becomes convinced the little girl in Daniel's photo is her.
Mi Young decides to stay by Gun's side and meets with Chairwoman Wang. Gun announces he will step down in three months, with the chairwoman filling in during his absence. Yong's mom hands Gun a mysterious diary.
Mi Young decides to leave Korea right away, but news that Gun has been alone for three years weighs on her mind. Daniel is thrown when he hears Gun has a hereditary illness, and Se Ra seeks out Mi Young again.
Gun provides wholehearted support for the collaboration, while Mi Young grows uncomfortable with his constant presence at her side. Se Ra becomes increasingly uneasy about Mi Young's return.
