Joining us on this week's I'm LIVE is the band MACGUFFIN! This band is composed of drummer SNOOQ vocalist and guitarist Byeon Ha-geum bassist UHI and guitarist Bae Joon-il. The band is named after a technique of the same name that advances a film's plot builds the narrative and helps push the story forward widely popularized by Alfred Hitchcock. Back in 2017 the quartet participated in the Arirang Competition and won the Grand Prize with their unique interpretation of Arirang. Then in 2018 they won the Golden Prize at the Penta Super Rookie and engraved their name in the minds of the public. The members recently completed their mandatory military duties and are so ready to impress listeners with their matured musicality. Composed of vocalist Cheong Ho-won guitarist Kim Yun-soo keyboardist Aaron Park and drummer Kim Jong-gil they compose write and produce all the songs they release and perform. Their name is short for World 24 Hours expressing the band's desire for their music to be heard 24 hours a day around the world. Thanks to their outstanding talents W24 won the Focus Award at the Asia Artist Awards in 2018 and the Best K-Pop Rookie Award at the 2019 Korea Culture Entertainment Grande Prize. Also they participated in The Asian Top Band a project to discover world-class musicians involving 8 Asian countries as the Korean representatives and became the winners.
