Moon Jung's father comes to the hospital, and he says something unexpected to Woo Jin. And Woo Jin hears about the shocking truth about Woo Jin's father from Moon Jung. Eun Jae gets a call from the main hospital to return. Director Yeo says goodbye to people at Doldam Hospital. Min Kook leaves after the incident, but Dr. Kim tries to bring him back.
Dr. Do suddenly visits Doldam Hospital and is on bad terms with Dr. Woo Jin. The main hospital organizes and sends a fact-finding committee to Doldam to investigate the table death which occurred during the procedure led by Director Park. Nurse Joo suspects the relationship between Ah Reum and In Beom as they look very close to each other.
Woo Jin is threatened by the creditors to move to another hospital. Min Kook finally performs surgery on his VIP patient. Director Yeo is transferred to the emergency room unconscious, and Dr. Kim is in agony as Director Yeo signed the Do Not Resuscitate form.
Min Kook tries to operate on his VIP patient, but Dr. Shim strongly goes against him. And Ho Jun is stuck in between them. Woo Jin keeps bothering Min Kook and his team with emergency patients and finally gets to operate once again. Woo Jin is taken by the loan sharks, and he sees Hyun Jun. Hyun Jun threatens him to sign a contract.
Eun Jae loses her confidence from the domestic violence incident, and Dr. Kim cheers her up by telling her that it isn't her fault. A paramedic comes into the ER, unconscious, and she is declared as brain-dead in the end. And the condition of a patient from prison gets worse. Eun Jae finds out that Woo Jin had lost his parents when he was young.
Nurse Oh finds out that Director Yeo has lung cancer. A loan shark comes to the hospital and makes a scene to embarrass Woo Jin. Eun Jae feels uncomfortable for causing trouble, so she decides to apologize. Doldam hospital gets a call, and Dr. Kim and Min Guk fiercely conflict over a patient from prison.

Friday is the busiest day as a lot of patients swarm in Doldam Hospital. Eun Jae still finds it hard to perform surgical operations herself. A girl patient who suffers from drug poisoning because of her father's joint family suicidal attempt reminds Woo Jin of a painful memory from his childhood. And the staff of Doldam Hospital resents after hearing a rumor that there will be a new director.
Min Kook asks Woo Jin questions about the primary surgery that Dr. Kim operated on, and Woo Jin hesitates to answer them. The director of Doldam Hospital comes back to the hospital, and Ah Reum greets him. Eun Jae gets furious at Woo Jin for taking away her opportunity to be in the second operation with Min Kook. And Doldam Hospital is on the verge of being sued for malpractice.
Dr. Kim chooses the extreme method to save Minister Ryu. After Dr. Kim manages to bring Minister Ryu back to life, Min Kook starts doubting Dr. Kim's real intention and skills. After Min Kook announces the Minister's condition to the press, Dr. Kim just doesn't seem to care. Eun Jae asks Woo Jin to attend the second surgery, but he refuses.
Dong Joo now asks why Dr. Kim pushed back his father's operation many years ago. Dr. Kim is left dazed and uncertain while they stand before the rest of the staff. The nosy journalist now starts interviewing more people outside the hospital to dig deeper for his juicy case on Doldam. With emotions about his past lingering around the hospital, Dong Joo continues on the cardiac operation that hits very close to his heart.
Seong Jae calls Dr. Kim unexpectedly. He brings an opportunity to Dr. Kim's table, but there happens to be a catch. President Do brings in the news that the hospital is set to be closed. The future of Doldam is close to becoming a mere thought or dream after its doors are sure to be closed by the wrath of Yoon Wan. Dr. Kim this time around, is unable to interfere with the decision.
As Dr. Kim starts Chairman Shin's operation, the audience outside the operating room watches out for any mistake Dr. Kim makes. A damaged aorta and a severe perforation patient splits In Bum and Dong Joo, making the operation which already was impossible even worse to handle. Gi Tae accidentally lets a nosy reporter into some confidential material.
Yoon Wan is ready to get rid of Dr. Kim and has a new and much younger chairman in mind to head the foundation. Dr. Kim and Chairman Shin, on the other hand, talk about the operation and how to go about it. It seems like a mission impossible, but Dr. Kim's out to pull some strings to make his plan work.
Dr. Kim wonders why Chairman Shin has so much confidence in him amidst all the controversy he's faced in his life. Chairman Shin returns the question to him, wondering if all these amazing doctors in the association would try to save his life with billions of dollars on the line. A fight breaks out just outside the operating room, with In Bum and Dong Joo leaving each other's faces bruised.
Dong Joo succumbs to the fatigue, and he ends up contracting the MERS virus. Although Dr. Kim wants to take over, Seo Jung stops him from risking his life for it. She enters and handles the deadly contagious patient. Now that she puts herself on the line, she also crosses herself out of the list of people allowed to operate on Chairman Shin the task she's worked hard on for the past weeks.
A hostage-taking crisis happens in the operating room. The victim at the edge of the knife is Seo Jung, with the sole request is to stop the surgery that currently takes place. The medical team informs the police, but the armed suspect is ready to kill Seo Jung at any minute. With two people's lives on the line, Dr. Kim needs to think fast.
Details There's a standoff at the lobby of the Doldam Hospital. This time, it's In Bum and Hyeon Cheol versus Dr. Kim and the rest of the staff. The dispute isn't over after all the talks that had happened, and the future of Doldam seems to be entering murky waters of this devilish foggy forest of no hope. The micromanagement of President Do is getting in the way of Dr. Kim. For now, Seo Jung handles an 8 in a hundred chance of survival surgery.
