Kang-joo learns that Ha-eun was at the Gangneung hotel on the night of Shin-hyuk's death and confronts him, but he warns her to stay out of it. As suspicions grow among Tae-jun, Sang-guk, and even In-cheol about Shin-hyuk's changed behavior, Hee-soo—posing as Steven Lee of Lion Fund—makes a dangerous deal with Tae-jun. On Kang-joo's birthday, Ha-eun, Eun-ha, and Jin-woo unexpectedly come face to face.
After winning the bid, Ha-eun begins tightening his plan, but emotional tensions rise as Eun-ha and Jin-woo grow closer, stirring his jealousy. Meanwhile, Soo-chul searches for Park Sang-chul to atone for his betrayal but is caught by Dong-chan's group. Ha-eun approaches Tae-jun for help with a business deal, drawing him one step deeper into a carefully set trap.
As the battle over the Gangneung Convention Center project intensifies, Moo-reung Construction and J&C compete fiercely, with Ha-eun pushing back against Jin-woo's political lobbying. Kang-joo's relentless investigation begins to pressure Tae-jun, while Ha-eun continues his secret pursuit of the truth. Meanwhile, a crucial revelation emerges—Yang Man-cheol was the one who entrusted young Ha-eun to Jae-soo 20 years ago, further linking the past to the present.
Kang-joo visits Detective Kyung and begins to suspect that Ha-eun's father's death may not have been an accident, pushing her to question Tae-jun about the past. Meanwhile, Ha-eun confronts Soo-chul over his betrayal, while Jin-woo, heartbroken over Eun-ha, realizes the man she loves is already “dead.” As Hee-soo—Tae-jun's hidden son—reappears with a new identity, tensions rise across all sides.
Eun-ha is stirred by a familiar memory of Ha-eun, while Kang-joo receives a second message and begins investigating a 20-year-old case involving the Ministry of Construction. As she learns that the detective in charge of the case was Ha-eun's father, her suspicions deepen, and the connection between past and present begins to unfold.
Cheon realizes that Ha-eun was the detective who once helped him from the shadows. As Kang-joo receives an anonymous letter, she grows more suspicious of Ha-eun's death and begins reinvestigating his first case. Meanwhile, Eun-ha learns the truth about Ha-eun's twin and his connection to her company, leaving her shaken, while Ha-eun struggles to hide his emotions and growing jealousy.
Living under Shin-hyuk's identity, Ha-eun deliberately keeps his distance from Eun-ha, deepening her confusion and grief. With the help of private information broker Cheon, he begins tracking Tae-jun, Dong-chan, and the police chief, uncovering new leads—including the existence of Assemblyman Tae-jun's hidden son and a cryptic message that may expose the truth behind the conspiracy.
Detective Kyung rushes to Seoul after discovering that Ha-eun is actually Kang-hyuk, the son of his senior whom he had believed dead, but is targeted in a brutal attack by Dong-chan's group. As Ha-eun faces a sudden arrest warrant, he sets out for Gangwon Province to find a key witness who holds the truth.
Ha-eun struggles with haunting dreams and unresolved emotions as he grows closer to Eun-ha. Refusing to close the case, he finds flaws in the suspect's alibi while his partner seeks a crucial witness who may reveal the truth.
Ha-eun becomes convinced the suicide is actually a murder and uncovers ties to a powerful politician, but is ordered to stop the investigation. Meanwhile, hidden connections to a man believed dead 20 years ago begin to surface.
Seo Ha-eun, a respected detective with no memory of his early childhood, investigates a suspicious motel suicide that may be linked to a case from 20 years ago. As he tracks down a key suspect, the man reacts with shock upon seeing Ha-eun's face.
Moo Gak, Lt. Yeom and the other detectives are shocked to see the video of Jae Hee kidnapping Cho Rim. Meanwhile, Cho Rim leaves a clue when she drops her ring on the floor as Jae Hee looks away.
Jae Hee tries to escape with the autobiographies, but gets arrested by Moo Gak instead. Meanwhile, Cho Rim is starting to recall memories of her parents and her accident.
To help Cho Rim remember, Moo Gak tries to make a composite sketch of the woman's face who flashed across Cho Rim's mind. Meanwhile, Jae Hee hires a private investigator to trace Eun Seol's past.
Lt. Yeom tells a shocked Cho Rim that Moo Gak was assaulted and saw the culprit's face before falling into a coma. Jae Hee tries, but can't grasp Dr. Chun's message. To find out Moo Gak's state, Jae Hee tells Cho Rim he will go to the hospital with her.
Moo Gak finds the Frog Troupe leader after hearing he told Cho Rim, now only staff support, that she doesn't have the confidence or humor to go on stage. Cho Rim cries from humiliation and Moo Gak tells her they can do comedy and investigations together.
Worried about Cho Rim, Moo Gak asks her to stop investigating altogether. However, Cho Rim likes the fact she can use her eye for something useful and says Moo Gak can protect her if she's in danger.
Just after arriving to the restaurant, Moo Gak and the other detectives witness a man falling from the rooftop. Moo Gak discovers Jae Hee looking down from there. Jae Hee, who has no time to make excuses, is arrested for being caught red-handed.
When Moo Gak asks the troupe leader to take Cho Rim back, he's ordered to make him laugh. Meanwhile, a body with an engraved barcode is found at the park, breaking the chain-murder pattern and creates chaos within the special investigation team.
Mi Young decides to stay by Gun's side and meets with Chairwoman Wang. Gun announces he will step down in three months, with the chairwoman filling in during his absence. Yong's mom hands Gun a mysterious diary.
