When Gerry is suddenly promoted from sub to full-time teacher, his initial thrill is quickly squashed by the realization that he's back to real teaching responsibilities: namely, marking. Upon meeting a retired teacher who yearns for his old days in the classroom, Gerry concocts a scheme that seems too good to be true. Finding himself temporarily on crutches, Robert bonds with Frank, who takes him out for drinks and introduces him to a community of differently-abled folks who aren't receptive to Robert's brief foray into their world. Meanwhile, Nisha makes the rounds with yet another fundraiser, testing the staff's generosity.
