Sherihan

Sherihan

Sherihan is an Egyptian actress, singer, and dancer who became one of the Arab world’s most recognizable entertainers. She began performing at a young age with the encouragement of her half-brother, actor and guitarist Omar Khorshid. She is best known for her elaborate Ramadan musical variety shows, particularly the *Fawazeer Ramadan* series, which combined acting, singing, dance, extravagant costumes, and audience riddles. These productions made her a major television icon across the Arabic-speaking world during the 1980s and 1990s. She also appeared in numerous Egyptian films, television series, and stage productions. Sherihan stepped away from performing in the early 2000s while undergoing treatment for a rare form of cancer. After a lengthy absence, she returned to the screen and stage in the musical drama *Coco Chanel*, released in 2021.
