雷·門羅（Sam Worthington 飾）是一個好心但不堪重負的居家男人。在與岳父岳母度過一個緊張的假日週末後，雷帶著妻子喬安妮（Lily Rabe 飾）和女兒佩裡（Lucy Capri 飾）開車回家，途中駛入一個休息區。然而屋漏偏逢陰雨夜，佩裡在事故中受傷。一家人急忙帶著她來到附近一個急診室，這裡的工作人員看似有些意圖可疑。被送去做進一步檢測後，佩裡與喬安妮失蹤了，他們所有的訪問記錄也消失不見。雷的擔憂成了真：他必須爭分奪秒尋找家人，並搞清他們究竟遭遇了什麼。
