1990年代初巴黎，愛滋病席捲世界，而醫療成果卻被製藥公司所壟斷，許多年輕人不滿這不公不義的現狀，組成社運團體Act Up，走上街頭來對抗這個冷漠的社會。一名新加入的成員納丹，邂逅了激進有理想的西恩，兩人的關係隨著社運的進行而加溫，然而HIV陽性的西恩，身體卻也因這場不斷加劇的運動而逐漸惡化……
