Baseado na história "Lei da Multidão", de Norman Krasna. Quando um injustamente acusado prisioneiro mal sobrevive a um ataque de uma turba de linchadores e é dado como morto, ele vingativamente decide responsabilizar a multidão pelo seu assassinato. Joe Wilson e Katherine Grant estão namorando, mas ele não tem dinheiro suficiente para se casar. Então Katherine viaja pelo país para ganhar dinheiro. Mas as coisas dão desastrosamente errado para Joe quando ele para em uma pequena cidade e é confundido com um assassino procurado.
