약물 중독에 빠진 할리우드 여배우 수잔 베일은 곤경에 처해 있습니다. 해독 센터에서 치료를 받은 후 영화사는 그녀를 계속 고용하는 조건으로 한때 스타였지만 지금은 챔피언급 애주가인 어머니와 함께 살 것을 요구합니다. 수년간 어머니의 그늘에서 벗어나기 위해 고군분투해왔고 여전히 자신을 어린아이처럼 대하는 어머니에게 이러한 설정은 수잔에게 나쁜 소식입니다. 이러한 문제와 다른 문제에도 불구하고 수잔은 자신의 상황의 재미있는 면을 보기 시작하고 딸에게만 엄마가 있는 것이 아니라 엄마에게도 딸이 있다는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다.
