제 2차 세계대전이 끝난후 자신이 경영하던 동경의 재즈 바로 돌아온 조종사 조 베렛은 죽은 줄로만 알았던 그의 아내 트리나가 임시정부의 변호사인 랜디스의 아내가 되어 조와의 사이에서 태어난 7살짜리 딸 앤야를 키우고 있는 것을 본다. 한편 일본 정보국 비밀요원 기무라는 조의 딸 앤야를 납치하며 조에게 전범들을 일본을 잠입시키는 위험천만한 일의 수행을 강요한다. 조는 가족을 지키기 위해 힘든 싸움을 시작한다.
