바비 보핑거는 낯을 가리지 않은 애송이 영화 제작자이다. 그는 돈도 없고 내세울 만한 배경도 없지만 헐리웃 진출을 꿈꾼다. 그는 헐리웃 최고의 액션 스타 키트 램시를 주연 배우로 영화 제작을 하려고 하나 키트와 같은 대스타를 잡기란 하늘의 별따기 만큼 어려운 것이 사실이다. 그래서 보핑거와 그의 일당은 키트를 몰래 따라다니며 그의 일상을 카메라에 담기로 한다. 보핑거의 무모한 계획으로 인해 키트의 삶은 엉망이 되어 버린다.
