15살 소녀 롤라는 호기심이 많고 성적인 비밀이 가득한 예민한 소녀. 개학하고 친구들을 만나 수다를 떨던 롤라는 남자친구 아더와 얘기 중에 아더가 방학 중에 다른 여자와 잠을 잤다는 사실을 알고 자신도 다른 남자와 관계를 가졌다고 거짓말을 한다. 아더와 신경전을 벌이다 헤어진 롤라는 아더의 친구 마엘에게 자신의 이야기를 털어놓으며 위안을 받는다. 오직 아이팟과 MSN메신저로 통하는 세상, 롤라와 친구들은 그들끼리 통하는 언어와 방식으로 10대를 즐기면서 자신들만의 울타리를 만들어 간다. 그런 롤라에게는 아빠와 이혼 후, 자신들에게 잔소리만 늘어놓는 끔찍한 잔소리꾼 엄마 앤이 있다. 앤은 너무나도 호기심이 많은 10대 아이들을 이해하지 못한다. 자신의 딸 롤라만은 아직 너무 순진한 아이라고 생각하고 애정 어린 잔소리를 해대는 앤은 어느 날, 딸 롤라의 비밀 일기장을 발견하게 되는데
