八百長疑惑でＮＦＬを追われた元トップ・プレイヤーのポール・クルー。すっかり落ちぶれてしまった彼は、ある日飲酒運転で警官とカーチェイスをして懲役３年の刑に。送られた刑務所で彼を待ち受けていたのは所長のヘイズン。彼は、看守のアメフトチームを強くしようと、ポールに当て馬となる囚人チームの結成を強要する。渋々引き受けたポールのもとに、看守たちに恨みを抱くコーチのネイト・スカボローはじめ個性的な面々が集まってきた。そして、試合に向けみるみる強くなる囚人チームに対し、危機感を抱いた看守たちの激しい嫌がらせが始まる…。
