האם סנטה קלאוס קיים, כן או לא? ילד אחד מטיל ספק בקיומו של הסבא עם הזקן הלבן והחליפה האדומה. בערב חג המולד הילד הספקן שוכב במיטתו מקווה לשמוע את צלצולי הפעמונים המלווים את הכרכרה של סנטה אבל במקום הכרכרה נשמע קיטור רכבת מחוץ לחלון חדר השינה. הכרטיסן מזמין את הילד לעלות על הרכבת ולנסוע אל הקוטב הצפוני שם הילדים שמאמינים בסנטה יקבלו מתנה מאד מיוחדת.
