Rédacteur en chef d'un journal à scandales, Warren laisse publier, par erreur, un article infamant sur Connie Allenbury, une richissime héritière qui demande aussitôt réparation. Une affaire embarrassante, qui contraint Warren à ajourner à nouveau son union, avec sa fiancée Gladys.
