
La lampe bleue
PC George Dixon qui doit prendre sa retraite sous peu, prend une nouvelle recrue, Andy Mitchell (Hanley), sous son égide, l'introduction au rythme de nuit accommodants. Dixon est un héros Ealing « ordinaire » classique, mais aussi anachronique, non préparé et incapable de répondre à la violence de Tom Riley (Bogarde). Appelé à la scène d'un vol qualifié dans un cinéma local, Dixon se retrouve face à face avec Riley, un jeune désespéré armé d'un revolver.
