A l’époque du roi Farouk, un ingénieur agronome, Ahmed revient au village aider les paysans à améliorer leur culture de la canne à sucre. Le film raconte donc l’affrontement entre un jeune ingénieur agronome issu d’un milieu paysan et le pacha tout-puissant des environs. L’amour, les vengeances et les poursuites s’entremêlent de façon rocambolesque jusqu’au triomphe final de la justice.
