Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, plusieurs centaines de coréens sont emmenés de force sur l’île d’Hashima par les forces coloniales japonaises. L’île est un camp de travail où les prisonniers sont envoyés à la mine. Un résistant infiltré sur l’île élabore un plan d’évasion géant, afin de sauver le plus grand nombre de prisonniers possibles...
