Samba llegó a Francia hace 10 años, desde Senegal, y desde entonces ha pasado por varios empleos humildes. Alice es una ejecutiva que está pasando una mala época en su vida, y sufre de agotamiento. Ambos luchan por salir de su particular y personal callejón sin salida. Samba está dispuesto a hacer lo que sea necesario para conseguir los papeles, mientras que Alicia intenta recuperar su vida... hasta que el destino los junta.
