Summary

“Work” (2021) follows Lilith, an aspiring musician who gets a potentially career-changing opportunity: she must write and record a song in a single day for consideration in a commercial. The timing could hardly be worse. Her chance at a breakthrough falls on a day when she is already committed to earning money through her other job, working as a sex worker under the name Eve. As Lilith moves between the demands of her music and the pressures of her paid work, the film observes the practical and emotional strain of trying to build an artistic future while surviving in the present. Her creative ambition, professional obligations, and carefully maintained persona begin to exist in uneasy tension, forcing her to confront how much of herself she can separate from the roles she performs for others.
