Teenager Calvin gets drawn into a cult that worships youth but threatens adults. His father struggles to rescue him - but Calvin may not want saving.

Summary

Without a Name follows Calvin, a teenager who becomes increasingly absorbed by a secretive cult devoted to youth. What initially appears to be an alluring escape from the pressures of ordinary life gradually reveals a darker ideology—one that celebrates the young while viewing adulthood as something corrupt, obsolete, or even threatening. As Calvin is drawn deeper into the group’s rituals and beliefs, the boundary between youthful freedom and dangerous manipulation begins to disappear. Calvin’s father becomes the story’s emotional anchor as he tries to understand what has happened to his son and find a way to bring him home. His efforts are complicated by Calvin’s growing resistance: the teenager does not necessarily see himself as a victim, and may regard his father’s attempts to intervene as proof that the cult is right about the older generation. Their conflict gives the film its central human tension, turning the rescue of a child into a painful struggle over trust, identity, and the right to choose one’s own life. The film uses its cult premise to explore the anxieties surrounding adolescence and the fear of growing older. Its worship of youth reflects familiar pressures to remain desirable, rebellious, and untouched by responsibility, while its hostility toward adults suggests how easily generational resentment can be transformed into extremism. At the same time, the father and son relationship raises questions about parental control and whether protection can become another form of confinement. Without a Name is therefore less a straightforward thriller than an unsettling portrait of persuasion, alienation, and the seductive promise of belonging. Its suspense comes not only from the danger surrounding Calvin, but from the possibility that he may genuinely believe he has found something worth defending.
