Summary

Set in the fall of 1944, as World War II nears its end, Warboy follows Nicu, a teenager living with his family in the Apuseni Mountains of Romania. When the advancing conflict threatens the family’s horses, Nicu sets out into the wilderness to save them, leaving behind the relative safety of home and entering a landscape transformed by fear, uncertainty, and military upheaval. His journey is both practical and deeply personal.
