Summary

Vera is a historical spy drama centered on Vera Pešić, a young woman caught in the turbulent Balkans during World War II. As the region is carved up by occupation forces, rival authorities, and clandestine intelligence services, Vera is drawn into a dangerous web of espionage. Her intelligence, nerve, and talent for reading the people around her allow her to move between competing factions, but every alliance brings new risks and demands a price. Jovana Stojiljković plays Vera as neither a simple heroine nor a conventional femme fatale. She is resourceful, proud, and frequently provocative, using the assumptions men make about her to gain influence in rooms where she would otherwise have little power. Around her is a shifting cast of military officers, political operatives, informants, lovers, and other powerful men, all pursuing their own agendas.
