Summary
Redrum (2022) is a mystery thriller centered on Sohel, a famous musician whose lifeless body is discovered in his bedroom. His wife, Neela, appears to have been sleeping nearby and quickly becomes the investigation’s prime suspect. The case is taken up by Rashed, Sohel’s childhood friend, whose personal connection to the victim gives the inquiry an added emotional weight. As Rashed questions Neela and the people in Sohel’s orbit, it becomes clear that the musician’s public image concealed complicated relationships and unresolved tensions. Those closest to him seem to be withholding information, and their conflicting accounts make it difficult to separate fact from carefully constructed deception. When the present-day investigation stops yielding clear answers, Rashed turns to Sohel’s past, uncovering disturbing events that gradually reshape the circumstances surrounding the death. Rather than treating the murder as a straightforward whodunit, Redrum explores how secrets, guilt, loyalty, and resentment can distort the truth. The film also examines the pressures surrounding celebrity, the fragility of intimate relationships, and the way a person’s past can continue to control the present. With its focus on suspicion and shifting perspectives, the story keeps Neela, Rashed, and the other characters under scrutiny while asking whether every lie is meant to conceal the truth—or whether some lies are distorted versions of it.
