Psycho
A film by Anonno Mamun.
Summary
Anonno Mamun’s Psycho is a Bengali crime thriller centered on a mysterious killer whose violent acts unsettle a city and leave the authorities struggling to understand the motive behind them. As the investigation grows more urgent, a determined police officer is drawn into a dangerous pursuit, while a young woman becomes closely connected to the case and its increasingly disturbing clues. Their search takes them through a world of hidden identities, fear, and moral uncertainty, where appearances are rarely trustworthy. Ziaul Roshan leads the film as the investigator at the heart of the pursuit, bringing a forceful, action-oriented presence to the role. Puja Cherry plays the young woman whose involvement gives the story a more personal and emotionally vulnerable dimension, while Shahiduzzaman Selim is part of the film’s ensemble of figures surrounding the investigation. Together, the characters represent different responses to violence: professional duty, personal survival, and the desire to uncover the truth. The film’s central concerns are the psychology of criminal behavior, the consequences of trauma, and the difficulty of distinguishing justice from revenge. Its title points not only to the identity of a possible perpetrator but also to the atmosphere of paranoia that spreads through the story. Psycho combines police investigation, suspense, and action, building its tension around unanswered questions and the threat of a killer who seems to remain one step ahead. It is designed as a dark, fast-moving thriller in which the mystery matters as much as the pursuit, so the film is best approached without knowing how its revelations ultimately fit together.
