Summary

In Suitable Flesh, psychiatrist Elizabeth Derby appears to have a successful career, a stable marriage, and a respected place in her community. That confidence is shaken when she begins treating Asa Waite, a troubled young man whose disturbing behavior and fragmented account of an ancient family curse suggest something far more sinister than ordinary psychological distress. What begins as a professional concern soon becomes an obsession, drawing Elizabeth into a terrifying mystery that reaches beyond the limits of medicine and reason.
