Summary
Love Virtually is a retro-futurist romantic comedy set in a near future where the Metaverse has become a routine part of everyday life. Against a backdrop of virtual cities, customizable avatars, and increasingly blurred boundaries between the digital and physical worlds, four couples pursue love, validation, and emotional connection online. Their searches take them through a series of awkward, extravagant, and often absurd situations as they attempt to build relationships in a reality where almost anything—and almost anyone—can be digitally altered. The ensemble includes people seeking romance for very different reasons: some want genuine intimacy, some are trying to escape the limitations of their real lives, and others are drawn to the freedom and fantasy of their virtual identities. One central question concerns a celebrity who wonders whether anyone can love the person behind the public image rather than the fame attached to it.
