I Got Problemz

Summary

I Got Problemz is a scrappy 2023 comedy about an exceptionally intelligent man whose talents have done little to improve his circumstances. Despite his sharp mind, he has no money, no job, and almost no practical understanding of how the world works. His lack of street smarts repeatedly turns ordinary setbacks into bigger complications, creating a steady stream of awkward situations and bad decisions. The film follows its troubled protagonist as he tries to navigate work, finances, relationships, and the colorful personalities around him. Friends, acquaintances, and the people he encounters along the way become sources of both assistance and trouble, while his tendency to overthink problems—and underestimate the realities of everyday life—keeps him in a near-constant struggle. Much of the humor comes from the contrast between his intellectual potential and his inability to apply it when it matters most. Underneath its broad, character-driven comedy, I Got Problemz explores the frustrations of being gifted but overlooked, the pressures of poverty and unemployment, and the difference between book smarts and real-world wisdom. It is ultimately a lighthearted portrait of an unconventional outsider trying to find direction, stability, and a way to turn his obvious intelligence into a more successful life.
