Summary

Set in Miami, Forge follows siblings Raymond and Coco Zhang, whose highly successful art-forgery operation depends on skill, secrecy, and a sharp understanding of the art market. Their carefully controlled business takes an unpredictable turn when they cross paths with a disgraced millionaire seeking their expertise. The opportunity promises money and renewed influence, but it also draws the siblings into a more dangerous web of deception than they may have anticipated. At the same time, FBI Art Crimes agent Emily Lee arrives in Miami to investigate a series of mysterious paintings. As she traces the works’ origins and searches for the people behind them, her investigation begins to close in on the city’s illicit art world—and potentially on Raymond and Coco themselves. The film’s tension comes from the opposing forms of expertise at work: the Zhangs’ ability to imitate and manipulate, and Lee’s determination to uncover what is genuine. Forge centers on the uneasy relationship between art and authenticity, asking whether value comes from originality, reputation, or the story attached to an object.
