Summary

In Float, Waverly is a young medical professional on the verge of beginning her residency in Toronto, convinced that her life is moving according to a carefully constructed plan. Before starting this next chapter, she travels to Taipei to spend time with her parents. When circumstances disrupt her expected itinerary, Waverly makes an impulsive detour to a small Canadian beach town, hoping for a brief escape before returning to her responsibilities. Her getaway takes an unexpected turn at a beach party, where she nearly drowns and is rescued by Blake, a capable, easygoing local lifeguard. Embarrassed but determined not to let the incident define her, Waverly agrees to let Blake teach her how to swim.
