Bugonia

Summary

Bugonia is a darkly comic science-fiction thriller about Teddy, a conspiracy-obsessed beekeeper, and Don, his more vulnerable young accomplice. Convinced that Earth is being targeted by extraterrestrials, the two men abduct Michelle Fuller, the formidable CEO of a powerful pharmaceutical company. They believe Michelle is not human at all, but an alien agent preparing to destroy the planet, and they intend to force her to reveal the truth before it is too late. Michelle’s position, intelligence, and apparent control make her a compelling opponent to Teddy and Don, whose elaborate theories are fueled by fear, resentment, and a desperate need to make sense of a world that seems increasingly hostile.
