Summary

Alan (2022) follows Alan do Rap, one of the early figures of hip-hop in Salvador, Brazil, as he fights to make himself heard in a culture that repeatedly tries to silence him. With limited access to venues and few legitimate opportunities to promote his music, Alan adopts a bold strategy: he interrupts performances by better-known hip-hop artists, takes the microphone, and uses those brief moments to introduce his songs and his voice to the crowd.
