Der Film besteht aus vier Episoden. Neben einer Geschichte über das Unrecht, das Arbeitern durch einen Fabrikbesitzer und Gerichte zugefügt wird, werden Vorurteile und Grausamkeiten zu anderen Zeiten angeprangern: die Eroberung Babylons, die Verschwörung der Pharisäer gegen Jesus und die Bartholomäusnacht im Frankreich des 16.
