Der glückliche Baron gewinnt bei einem Kartenspiel ein Boot und bricht gemeinsam mit seiner ehemaligen Geliebten auf, um neue Abenteuer zu erleben. Widrige Umstände verschlagen sie in eine Kleinstadt, wo die seefahrende Begleiterin des Barons ihn verlässt, angelockt von den verlockenderen Aussichten, die ihr ein wohlhabender Einheimischer bietet.
