Když světla zhasnou, bitva začíná
V muzeu Smithsonova institutu ve Washingtonu nastala noc. Strážci odešli domů, světla zhasla, dětští návštěvníci jsou doma ve svých postelích… přesto je v „prázdném“ muzeu podivný šramot. Bývalý noční hlídač Larry Daley je opět zatažen do těžko představitelného dobrodružství, ve kterém ožívá sama historie.
