Režie Graeme Clifford
Americká herečka Frances Farmerová (1914-1970) patřila k nejrozpornějším zjevům Hollywoodu 30. a 40. let. Její kariéra měla strmý vzestup a po krátké době také stejně prudký pád, neboť Frances Farmerová nebyla ochotna podřídit se požadavkům tehdejší komerční tvorby. Spíš než po laciném pozlátku filmové slávy toužila po úspěchu na jevišti, ale to se jí podařilo jen částečně. Z 15 filmů, jež natočila, odolal zubu času prakticky jediný - Děvče z baru (1936) Howarda Hawkse a Wiliama Wylera.
