This hunt tells a story in two parts. The first chapter follows Earl Peterson, Mark's dad, as he steps into the field with one specific goal in mind. Experience, patience, and timing all play a role as the morning unfolds, setting the tone for the rest of the adventure. The second chapter shifts to Mark's turn. On the coldest morning of the trip so far, the team heads into black-faced impala country. Wind, shifting conditions, and sharp eyes keep things interesting as they cover ground and look for the right opportunity. Every move matters, and nothing comes easy.

Undeterred, they adapt by using alternative means of transportation. Armed with their trusty Gunwerks rifles, they navigate the rugged terrain, determined to get close to these elusive creatures amidst the stunning and challenging landscape.

After Jerry filled the first mule deer tag of the trip, the weather takes a turn for the worst and the deer movement slows down drastically. With just five days left in the trip to come up with a new game plan to figure out these whitetails and Austin's number one target mule deer, Jerry and Austin are worried that they may leave without filling another tag.
