เรื่องราวการผจญภัยของ เท็ด (แซ็ก เอฟรอน) เด็กชายวัย 12 ปี ผู้อาศัยอยู่ในเมืองที่เต็มไปด้วย สีสันที่มาจากวิวัฒนาการ ไม่ใช่จากธรรมชาติ แต่สาวน้อยที่เขาหลงรัก ออดรี (เทย์เลอร์ สวิฟต์) มี ความฝันว่าครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิตอยากจะเห็นต้นไม้ของจริง อยากเห็นสิ่งที่มาจากธรรมชาติ เท็ดจึงออก เดินทางไปค้นหาสิ่งๆ นั้น เพื่อเติมเต็มความฝันของเธอ ที่นอกตัวเมือง เท็ดได้พบกับ วันซ์เลอร์ (เอ็ด เฮล์มส์) ชายปริศนาผู้เล่าเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับ เดอะ โลแร็กซ์ (แดนนี เดวิโต) สิ่งมีชีวิตที่ดูเหมือนจะน่ากลัวแต่ก็น่ารักในตัวเดียวกัน โลแร็กซ์เปรียบ เสมือนผู้ปกป้องอาณาจักรที่เต็มไปด้วยสิ่งสวยงามตามธรรมชาติ ซึ่งตรงข้ามกับโลกที่เท็ดอยู่ ณ ปัจจุบัน เท็ดพยายามทุกอย่างที่จะทำให้เมืองที่เขาอยู่เป็นอย่างโลกของโลแร็กซ์ แต่มีอุปสรรคมาก มายขัดขวาง ซึ่งตัวเขาต้องก้าวข้ามมันไปให้ได้
