All habitats present difficulties, but the challenges of the desert are more obvious than most – scorching heat and a lack food and water make them one of the most hostile environments on the planet. But with great challenges come incredible solutions. Despite the deadly conditions, a hardy band of unique animal and plant species have adapted to meet the inhospitable desert conditions head on. Each one finds its own way to exploit and conserve the available food and water in a daily struggle for survival.
