As the wealthiest and most powerful man in the Wild West town of Gun Hill, cattle rancher Craig Belden (Anthony Quinn) has come to believe he's above the law. When his son, Rick (Earl Holliman), rapes and murders a Native American woman (Ziva Rodann) married to U.S. marshal Matt Morgan (Kirk Douglas), Belden arrogantly declines to allow his son's arrest. The marshal, once a friend of Belden's, takes on the rancher's henchmen and Rick's accomplice (Brian Hutton) to bring the killer to justice.

Walk the Proud Land

Based on a true story, this film follows John Philip Clum (Audie Murphy), a government official sent to Arizona to broker peace between the Americans and the Apache people. Initially hesitant, the Americans are convinced by Clum to stop fighting, and they allow him to establish a police force on the reservation, trained by Clum's friend Tom Sweeny (Charles Drake). Meanwhile, a romantic rivalry begins between Clum's wife and an Apache woman (Anne Bancroft) who has taken refuge in Clum's home.

Captain Phillip Donlin (Lloyd Bridges) and his small troop must rush to reach Little Big Horn in order to warn General Custer of the Sioux attack that awaits him. As they race against time, and Donlin pushes them hard through an arduous and dangerous journey, the Sioux start taking out the soldiers one at a time. Meanwhile, Donlin also clashes with Lt.
