Six years later, Cash continues to make a significant impact on the river's health by strategically collecting fishing waste and inspiring his peers across the world to protect the environment and all the wildlife he holds dear.

For more than 30 years, the Friends of the Fox River (FOTFR) organization has been working to protect and restore the Fox River in Illinois and Wisconsin. Now led by Gary Swick and Jenni Kempf, FOTFR is still fighting for the Fox, organizing river cleanup events to remove tons of trash from the river basin and educating students by bringing them directly to the watershed.
